Finance, treasury & tax

Accounting that is a by-product of trading

Each trade posts its own sale, purchase, stock and invoice entries to a full double-entry ledger on SKR03 and Swiss charts, so finance and the desk work from the same record.

How it works

From a booked trade to closed books

Finance runs off the same record the desk trades on.

  1. 01

    Post automatically

A booked trade generates its sale and purchase orders, invoices and stock moves on a double-entry ledger.

  2. 02

    Gate the tax

A DDP or DAP deal cannot be confirmed without a valid VAT registration in the clearing country.

  3. 03

    Manage cash and banking

Plan contracted and pipeline cash flow, and choose between a letter of credit and documents against payment.

  4. 04

    Close and export

Feed the German UStVA, ZM and Bilanz, and export to DATEV, from the same entries.

Everything at a glance

What finance and treasury covers

The ledger, the bank decisions and the tax gates behind each trade.

Double-entry ledger

German SKR03 and Swiss charts of accounts, with every trade posting its own entries.

AP register and reminders

Payables deduplicated, with reminders at five, two and one days before due.

AR ageing and credit

Receivables ageing that feeds the credit check on the counterparty before a new trade.

Cash flow and balance sheet

Contracted and simulated pipeline cash flow, with a continuous balance sheet (Fortlaufende Bilanz).

Banking: LC and DP

A letter-of-credit or documents-against-payment decision, with fee rules such as an LC opening fee of the greater of 0.7% or 500.

VAT and customs

Per-country VAT registrations with validity dates, intra-EU zero-rating and T1 transit, feeding UStVA, ZM and DATEV.

Counterparty and KYC

One verified counterparty record, with no purchase or sale order issued until it is approved for transaction.

DATEV export

The German ledger exports to DATEV, so the tax adviser works from the same numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Which charts of accounts are supported?

German SKR03 and Swiss charts. Each trade posts its own sale, purchase, stock and invoice entries to the ledger.

How does the VAT gate work?

A DDP or DAP deal cannot be confirmed without a valid VAT registration in the clearing country. Registration expiry is a hard stop, not a reminder.

Can the books be exported?

Yes. The German ledger feeds the UStVA, ZM and Bilanz and exports to DATEV, so the tax adviser works from the same entries.

When is a counterparty allowed to trade?

Only once its record is approved for transaction. Until then, Comet will not issue a purchase or sale order for it.
